Larry Mahan entered the professional rodeo circuit in 1963. He won his first World Bull Riding Championship title in 1965 and another in 1967. From 1966 to 1970 he won five consecutive World Championship All-Around Cowboy titles, competing in all three riding events - bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding. |
In 1973 Larry won an unprecedented sixth World Championship All-Around Cowboy title, earning him a place in the Guinness Book of Records. Larry held this record for 25 years, reigning as one of the all-time greatest World Record winners in the history of Rodeo. |
Larry was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1979, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum's Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1966, and the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1985.

Larry was honored to be Grand Marshall of the 2008 Mule Days in Bishop California and rode along side the RFD-TV float in the 2009 Rose Parade in Pasadena California. |
